The Metabo KFM 16-15 F is driven by a 1600W Marathon motor at 12,000 RPM, running a universal milling head fitted with three carbide indexable inserts. The head handles the full 0–90° chamfer range, producing chamfer heights up to 15 mm and widths up to 21 mm at 45° — suited to weld preparation on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and aluminium alloys encountered across Australian fabrication shops, structural steel yards, and maintenance facilities.

Cutting depth is controlled via Metabo’s patented One-Touch controller, which adjusts in 0.1 mm increments without tools. Positive stop points prevent accidental depth changes under load, and the chamfer angle is set directly through the guide plates for consistent, repeatable results across high-volume runs. A spindle lock is fitted as standard.

The bail handle adjusts without tools to suit different grip positions and workpiece orientations during extended use. Large-scale guide plates maintain stable contact with the workpiece surface, reducing dig-in on flat stock, while an included stop roller guides the tool along pipe for accurate weld seam preparation on round sections. Lateral plates direct swarf away from the operator during the cutting process.
