In stock

The SMG F1000P Pneumatic Flange Facing Machine is an ID-mounted flange facing machine built to re-face, groove and prepare flange sealing surfaces from 153mm up to 1000mm OD without removing the flange from the line. A 1.7kW pneumatic drive turns the powered 360° tool post through a three-speed continuous feed gearbox, while quick-set adjustable clamping jaws speed up setup across the 145–813mm ID mounting range and reduce operator handling time on site. Suited to oil and gas, power generation, and heavy equipment applications where compressed air is already available, it delivers repeatable machine-shop accuracy directly at the flange.

Description

The SMG F1000PPneumatic  Flange Facing Machine is built around an ID-mounted clamping system, powered 360° tool post, and three-speed continuous feed gearbox. The pneumatic drive turns the tool post through the full facing pass while the geared feed mechanism advances the cutting tool at one of six selectable in/out feed rates, producing a smooth, consistent finish across the sealing face.

Internal quick-set adjustable clamping jaws expand to grip the flange bore across the full 145–813mm ID mounting range, centring the machine on the flange without external fixtures. Combined with a facing capacity of 153–1000mm OD and a minimum swing diameter of 813mm, this gives the machine a wide working range from a single, self-contained unit that centres and locks in place before machining begins.

Operator control is built around the three-speed feed gearbox and the 102mm geared automatic tool post travel, which advances the tool through facing and boring passes without requiring the operator to manually crank or reposition the unit mid-cut. Running on a 1.7kW pneumatic drive rather than an electrical supply, the machine is well suited to hazardous-area or wash-down environments where compressed air is the preferred power source, reducing the electrical hazards associated with corded tools in wet or classified areas.

At approximately 175kg operational weight and shipping in a compact 900 x 600 x 600mm crate, the F1000P is intended for on-site deployment as much as workshop use. It is suited to flange facing, seal groove machining, weld preparation, and counter boring on pipe, valve, and pump flanges across oil and gas, power generation, heavy equipment, and shipbuilding and repair applications, provided a compressed air supply capable of 1.79 m³/min at 90 psi is available on site.

Features
  • Pneumatic drive – 1.7 kW (2.2 HP) air motor requiring 1.79 m³/min (64 SCFM) at 90 psi (6 bar), suited to sites with existing compressed air infrastructure and hazardous-area work where electrically powered tools are restricted.
  • Powered 360° tool post – Completes continuous machining passes around the full flange face without repositioning, widening the range of facing, grooving, and counter-boring operations possible from a single setup.
  • Three-speed continuous feed gearbox – Delivers six selectable in/out facing feed rates from 0.139 mm/rev to 0.628 mm/rev, producing a fine, consistent surface finish suited to gasket sealing faces.
  • Quick-set adjustable clamping jaws – Internal ID-mounting clamps set up quickly across the 145–813 mm mounting range, minimising setup time and manual handling on-site.
  • Wide facing and mounting range – Covers 153–1000 mm OD facing diameter and 145–813 mm ID mounting diameter from a single machine, reducing the need for multiple facing units across a flange size range.
  • Geared automatic tool post travel – 102 mm stroke handles deep facing and boring passes without needing to reposition or re-clamp the machine mid-operation.
  • Repeatable feed control – Separate 3-speed boring feed rates (0.05/0.10/0.20 mm/rev) allow the operator to match feed rate to material and finish requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I purchase industrial machinery from a tool shop or reseller, or from an industrial machinery specialist?

Tool shops and general resellers may offer a wide product range, but often lack the specialised knowledge to properly assess applications or provide ongoing technical support. An industrial machinery specialist ensures the right machine is selected and fully supported long after purchase. In most cases, buying directly from the importer or specialist also results in a lower purchase cost, as additional reseller margins are not added.
